Westwood Music Studios offers lessons on woodwind and brass instruments, including saxophone, clarinet, flute, oboe, trumpet, trombone, French horn, baritone horn, and tuba.
Our teachers are elite, experienced professionals, who carefully instruct in all aspects of playing and musicianship. With wind instruments, proper embouchure (mouth shape and positioning) and correct diaphragm breathing technique is essential. This makes the difference between struggling and squeaking, and easily playing clean notes. Correct embouchure, which differs greatly among the wind instruments, needs to be developed from the very beginning so the small facial muscles form correctly.
Private lessons, prior to or concurrent with the school band program, will assure students are playing correctly, enabling them to have a very positive band experience.
